She is a student at Kapi`olani Community College majoring in Travel and Tourism. She is currently the secretary of SHIMA (Students of Hospitality Industry Management Association), a student-ran organization in the Hospitality Department at KCC.

She’s one of the 2012 Outstanding Student Nominees and included in the Dean’s list.
Anafe is woking part-time at Don Quijote and is active in many community services such as church choir, Ho’okipa, Aloha Festival Hoolaulea, and charity walks.

Shawn Saito

Shawn Saito

Director of Program Outreach

He is a graduate of Hawaii Baptist Academy and is currently enrolled at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii, majoring in hospitality and tourism management. Shawn has served his community through numerous organizations and projects for many years. Shawn was elected and confirmed to the Hawaii Baptist Academy Alumni Association in April of 2013 and currently serves as Vice President for the organization. Since January 2013, Shawn has worked for the not-for-profit ClimbHI, a local organization helping Hawaii’s students realize the opportunities that are available in the hospitality and tourism industry. Shawn has also worked with VIP and government leaders in welcome protocol, administrative assistance, and outreach.

In his spare time, Shawn enjoys volunteering with the American Red Cross and is a Red Cross Club Committee Member in the Hawaii state chapter. In this role, Shawn assists the Committee Chair in the planning and execution of events for Red Cross high school clubs in the state. He has helped to serve as a photographer and front line volunteer in numerous events. Shawn has also been a noted guest speaker for numerous events such as Hawaii Pacific University’s Enrollment Reception, Red Cross Welcome Event, and ClimbHI’s L.E.I. Closing Remarks

Rose is a senior at Hawai’i Pacific University pursuing her BSBA in Hospitality & Tourism Management and concurrently her MBA in International Business. 2016 will mark Rose’s 2nd year with ClimbHI. Her experience working as a cast member at Disney World Resorts brings a touch of magic to our ClimbHI ohana. As a military child she moved all over the world stretching from Puerto Rico to Japan.

In the future, you will find Rose managing one of the major hotels in Waikiki or around the world. In her spare time, Rose has volunteered for numerous causes and organizations such aiding tsunami victims in Japan, Operation Christmas Child, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and golf tournaments for HLTA, ARDA, CMAA, and Skal Hawaii.

Joe is a senior at Hawaii Pacific University, studying for his Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Tourism Management. He is expected to graduate in May of 2016. He is passionate about Cruise Lines and aspires to be a Cruise Director in the not so distant future. He loves entertaining and making people laugh. Joe just came back from eight months working at the Walt Disney World Resort as a Skipper at the World Famous Jungle Cruise. At Disney World he learned customer service, problem solving, and service values from the best of the best. Joe is looking forward to using his experience to contribute to the LEI event.

Emina is currently a student at Hawaii Pacific University from Oslo, Norway and is majoring in Hospitality & Tourism Management. Emina has several years of experience within customer service, including having had a full time position as a receptionist at Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel in Oslo, Norway. She is currently enrolled as a fulltime student with a part time job on campus. She expects to graduate in the Fall of 2017. She is trilingual, loves traveling, and experiencing new cultures. Emina is excited for her internship journey and is hoping for a future insight on possible career paths through experiencing this internship.

Isabella Broström

Hospitality Intern at ClimbHI

Isabella is an international student from Sweden at Hawaii Pacific University studying for her BSBA in Hospitality Management. She is a board member of the student-run club TIMSO (Travel Industry Student Organization) at HPU since Fall of 2014 and holds the position as Student Director of the Ho’okipa Bridge Program which was recently developed to reach out and assist AOHT (Academy of Hospitality and Tourism) high school students in their transition from high school to college. Isabella is expected to graduate in the Spring of 2018 and aims to continue within the hospitality and tourism industry. She has a passion for traveling, meeting new people and learning about different cultures. Her goal upon graduation is a trainee position in a major hotel chain. She is excited to be part of the ClimbHI team and is looking forward to be participating in the LEI 2016 program events.

She is currently a student at Kapiolani Community College graduating this semester with a Hospitality Operations Management degree, then furthering her education online through Arizona State University. She is a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and is also a volunteer for the Salvation Army, participating in the Angel Tree and bell ringing every year during the holiday season. During her free time she enjoys reading, hiking, eating out and shopping. Raven is thrilled to be a part of the ClimbHI team and is looking forward to making LEI 2016 a huge success.
